Governor of Ogun State, host State of NSF, Dapo Abiodun, has expressed his happiness after Team Ogun crushed Team Kwara in the final football match of the Gateway Games 2024.
The final football match of the National Sports Festival 2024, tagged Gateway Games 2024, held on Tuesday 27 May, 2025 – it had Team Ogun wallop Team Kwara by four (4) goals to one (1).
Abiodun who was at the MKO Abiola Stadium “to witness the passion, the energy, and the overwhelming support from the crowd”, described the outcome of the match as “glorious”.
The Governor congratulated “exceptional” Team Ogun for wielding such “outstanding performance”, saying, “your teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship brought glory to our dear state”.
He said, the “Gateway Games 2024 has shown us the unifying power of sports”, adding, “Ogun State will continue to lead the way in sports excellence”.
The Gateway Games 2024 which kicked off on 16 May, 2025 is scheduled to conclude on 30 May, 2025.
Following Team Ogun’s triumph in the final football match, Governor Abiodun said: “A Glorious Night for Ogun State!
