According to Governor of Jigawa State, Umar Namadi: “Today, I presented the 2025 Budget of Innovation & Transformation for Greater Jigawa—a bold and ambitious plan of N698.3 billion—to the Jigawa State House of Assembly. This budget isn’t just about figures; it’s about building a self-reliant, prosperous Jigawa where every citizen has a chance to thrive.

“Highlights of the budget includes:
1. N90.76 billion for personnel costs. This will cover the new N70,000 minimum wage and bring in fresh talent to strengthen our education and healthcare systems.
2. N63.69 billion will go to recurrent expenses, supporting essentials like scholarships, feeding programs, and utilities.
3. N534.76 billion—the lion’s share—will drive capital investments in the areas of roads and infrastructure, agriculture, health, education and power and Renewable energy.
Agriculture leads the way with over N136 billion, underscoring its importance to food security, job creation, and economic growth. Education is also a top priority, with N120 billion focused on giving our children the tools to succeed. On Healthcare, we’re investing over N40 billion, including a transformative medical village with a diagnostic and cardiac center.
To tackle youth unemployment, we’re dedicating over N20 billion to empowerment programs that open doors to opportunities. We’re also addressing climate resilience with N16.8 billion earmarked for flooding and erosion control. And for housing, N10.72 billion will fund affordable homes under the Mass Housing Program.
This isn’t just a plan; it’s a commitment to progress and a shared vision for a brighter future.
