Edo State: Okpebholo announce 24-member transition committee to work with outgoing Obaseki to ensure ‘smooth transition’

Governor-Elect of Edo State, Monday Okpebholo, has announced, “formation of a 24-member transition committee, which will work closely with the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.”

Okpebholo, Gubernatorial candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) discomfited Asue Ighodalo and Olumide Akpata, Gubernatorial candidates of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and Labour Party (LP) respectively, to emerge winner of the Edo State Governorship Election 2024, as announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

According to Okpebholo: “In response to the letter dated October 10th, 2024, from the Edo State Government, I have since replied and submitted the list of members for the transition committee through the Edo State All Progressives Congress (APC). I am pleased to announce the formation of a 24-member transition committee, which will work closely with the outgoing administration of Governor Godwin Obaseki to ensure a smooth and seamless transition.


The transition committee, chaired by Dr. Pius Odubu, is composed of experienced and dedicated individuals who bring diverse expertise to the table. We are committed to meaningful discussions and collaboration for the benefit of our beloved state.
