Shelling at a crowded market in south-eastern Sudan has killed at least 21 people, with dozens left with various degree of wounds, as revealed by a doctors’ union.

The Sudan Doctors’ Network said, the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) were responsible for the attack in the city of Sennar on Sunday, condemning it as a “massacre” of civilians.

This is happening a day after the military of Sudan rejected a proposal by experts of the United Nations (UN) to move in an international force to ensure the protection of civilians.

Since the civil war broke out in Sudan, thousands of people have been killed and more than ten (10) million have fled their homes; this makes it one of the worst humanitarian crises in the world.
