Big thanks to Kevin de Bruyne’s shot, Manchester City earned one point in the Uefa Champions League 2022/23 semi final first leg against Real Madrid at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday 9 May 2023.
The Citizens are fully aware that a win next week Wednesday at the Etihad Stadium will send them straight to their second Uefa Champions League final, against either AC Milan or Inter.
Pep Guardiola’s side were in charge in the early stages of the clash with Los Blancos goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, denying De Bruyne, Rodri and Erling Braut Haaland two times.
Real Madrid’s single chance in the first half was beautifully converted by Vinicius Junior via a 25-yard shot in the 36th minute after an outstanding run by Eduardo Camavinga.
The visitors found their way back into the game with De Bruyne’s leveller in the 67th minute through a shot into the bottom corner.
With this outcome, Manchester City have now gone twenty-one (21) matches unbeaten in all competitions.
