President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of Prof. Usman Aliyu Malami as the pioneer Director & CEO of Nigeria’s new National Cancer Research Institute.

Prof. Usman Aliyi Malami will stay for “an initial term of 4 years”.
Prof. Malami is the current Asst. Secretary-General of the Nigerian Cancer Society (NCS).
According to Presidency Nigeria, “The National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment was established by the National Institute for Cancer Research and Treatment (Establishment) Act, assented to by President Buhari in December 2017.”
