Over the last few weeks, many of China’s stern restrictions have been relaxed, however, cases have heightened and so many countries are now requiring negative tests/screening from travellers from China.

WHO, the World Health governing body, has said, it wants to see more “timely publication of data”, which will be helpful to China and the rest of the world in formulating “accurate risk assessments”.

It also requested for information on vaccinations.

For fear of a renewed spread of the coronavirus, several countries have imposed Covid tests for traveller from China, they include: Taiwan, India, Italy, United States (US), South Korea, Spain, France and Japan.

Passengers arriving in England from China, will have to provide a negative test before they board a flight.

WHO, the health agency of the United Nations (UN), said in a statement: “WHO again asked for regular sharing of specific and real-time data on the epidemiological situation… and data on vaccinations delivered and vaccination status, especially in vulnerable people and those over 60.”

The health agency went further to stress “the importance of monitoring, and the timely publication of data, to help China and the global community to formulate accurate risk assessments and to inform effective responses”.
