Both football outfits have made attempts at signing the 21-year old in the summer, however, neither club was able to agree a fee with the club.
There is a belief that Everton may be more open now to let go of the forward in order to raise funds for Frank Lampard’s replacement as manager.
Everton may demand £60 million for the Englishman, however, both Chelsea and Newcastle may not be willing to pay the fee.
It is not known how long it will take before Everton names a new manager and this makes the situation complicated.
