Turkey-Syria Earthquake: Turkey issues 113 building arrest warrants as death toll rise above 28,000

Turkey officials disclose 113 arrest warrants have been issued in connection with the construction of structures that collapsed in the massive earthquake that happened on Monday.

Southern Turkey and Northern Syria were hit by a 7.8 magnitude earthquake and right now, the number of people that have been confirmed dead has risen beyond 28,000.

At least, 12 people have been taken into custody by the Turkish Police, encompassing building contractors.

Certainly, more arrests are expected.

Elsewhere, unrest in Southern Turkey has interrupted rescue works in some areas.

So many buildings collapsed when the earthquake struck and this has raised a lot of questions about whether the impact of the unfortunate incident was made worse by human defects.
