Klinsmann was former Germany and United States (US) manager. He clinched the world cup in 1990 with Germany.
The 58-year old football manager put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal.
The contract will keep Klinsmann at South Korea until the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted by Canada, Mexico and United States (US).
Jurgen Klinsmann netted 47 goals in 108 matches for Germany. He will succeed Paulo Bento, who finished four years as head coach by stepping down after helping South Korea to the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Klinsmann said: “I am very happy and honoured to be following in the footsteps of great coaches who have directed the Korean national team, from Guus Hiddink to former coach Paulo Bento.
“I know that the Korean national team has been improving and achieving results over a long period of time.
“I will do my best to achieve successful results in the upcoming Asian Cup and 2026 World Cup.”
