2023 Presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has offered his “sincere condolences to victims and families affected by the gory incident involving a train and a bus”.

Tinubu emerged winner of the 2023 Presidential election conducted on Saturday 25 February, 2023, and was declared President-elect by the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Mahmood Yakubu.
Lagosians were greeted early in the morning of Thursday 9 March, 2023 with a sad news of an accident between a moving train and a high capacity bus (BRT Bus), which happened at PWD, around Shogunle.
Tinubu, in his condolence message, said, he is praying for all those who died as a result of the unfortunate incident as well as those who sustained injuries.
The former Lagos State Governor said: “I offer my sincere condolences to the victims and families affected by the gory incident involving a train and a bus in the Ikeja area of Lagos State.
“I am praying for all, including those who died and those who sustained injuries in the incident.
“My thoughts are with them and with the Lagos State Government, even as I continue to follow the emergency response efforts closely and offer support, where necessary, to ensure that survivors and others involved receive the best care.”
