Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has met with the Country Director Nigeria, Western and Central Africa of the World Bank, Mr. Shubham Chaudhuri, and discussed on technical support the World Bank is currently offering under the development of the Lagos Platform for Development (LAPD) initiative.

Sanwo-Olu disclosed: “My team and I met with the Country Director Nigeria, Western and Central Africa of the World Bank Mr. Shubham Chaudhuri. We discussed the technical support the World Bank is currently offering under the development of the Lagos Platform for Development (LAPD) initiative.
“The LAPD is a body which focuses on preliminary ideas of investment prioritization and project bankability. Some of the potential projects include support for the emerging Lagos electricity market by helping to create the Independent Systems Operator and to set up state electricity regulator.
“We will also work with the World Bank to evaluate and support areas with low power supply using renewable energy sources including solar.
“With the state’s ongoing development of the food logistics park, which will be the biggest in sub Saharan Africa, currently being built at Ketu Ejirin Epe, ample investment and technical support from the world bank will be essential and appreciated.”
