Mainz pulled off a beautiful comeback to discomfit Bayern Munich 3-1 and blow the Bundesliga title battle wide open.

The top flight encounter kicked off in a simple style, with both sides making mistakes in possession and countering the other.

The Bavarians took the lead through Senegalese forward, Sadio Mane, in the 29th minute after successfully converting Joao Cancelo’s cross with a header.

Mainz levelled in the 65th minute through Ludovic Ajorque. The hosts went ahead to take the lead eight (8) minutes later after Leandro Barreiro calmly shot his effort into the bottom corner.

In the 79th minute, Aaron Martin Caricol sealed victory for Mainz with an effort into the bottom corner from inside the penalty area.
