Man sentenced to 2yrs imprisonment for impersonating the Secretary of the National Assembly and State Assembly Elections Tribunal

According to the Court of Appeal, Nigeria, a man named “Idris Baba Hassan” has been sentenced to “2yrs imprisonment for impersonating the Secretary of the National Assembly&State Assembly Elections Tribunal,Usman M Jankoli Esq”.

As disclosed by the Court of Appeal, Nigeria: “3rd August, 2023


“The Chief Magistrate Court 1 in Minna, Niger State on Thursday, sentenced a man Idris Baba Hassan to 2yrs imprisonment with an option of N100,000 fine for impersonating the Secretary of the National Assembly&State Assembly Elections Tribunal,Usman M Jankoli Esq


“He was arrested by operatives of the DSS attached to the Tribunal after being caught parading himself as the Secretary calling and sending text messages demanding for gratification on behalf of members of the Tribunal from various Litigants that have cases before the Tribunal.”
