This was in response to a tweet by Dr. Bosun Tijani, Nigeria’s Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, which disclosed: “Amazing news yesterday with the landing of the 2Africa Submarine Cable in Qua Iboe, Akwa Ibom. This is a significant milestone that has been delivered with the support of President
@officialABAT, whose directive to all relevant agencies to support the ease of approvals was critical to the successful landing of this cable in Akwa Ibom, a first for the Niger Delta region.
“This cable landing, as well as the one in Lagos last week are important building blocks in our plan to achieve broadband connectivity coverage for the whole country. We expect these cables to go live by early 2025.”
The US Mission Nigeria quoted Dr. Bosun Tijani’s tweet and commented: “U.S. tech companies are playing a major role in expanding access to reliable & secure internet throughout Nigeria. The landing of
