This is coming as Prime Minister of Israel, Benjamin Netanyahu, remains headstrong on a “military invasion on Rafah”.
The Israeli PM said, “with or without a deal, Israel will invade Rafah to achieve complete victory over Hamas batallions”.
The fighting between Israel and Hamas has gone beyond 200 days with thousands of deaths recorded on both sides.
President Biden said: “Yesterday, I held a call with President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi of Egypt and a call with Amir Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani of Qatar to discuss reaching a deal to secure the release of hostages together with an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
“The United States will work with Egypt and Qatar to ensure the full implementation of the terms of the deal, and exert all efforts to secure the release of hostages held by Hamas which is now the only obstacle to an immediate ceasefire and relief for civilians in Gaza.”
