The flags will be lowered back to half-staff the next day to continue honouring 39th President of the US, Jimmy Carter, wh died on Sunday 29 December, 2024 “surrounded by his family” in his home in Plains, Georgia.
This was made known by re-elected Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mike Johnson.
According to Johnson: “On January 20th, the flags at the Capitol will fly at full-staff to celebrate our country coming together behind the inauguration of our 47th President, Donald Trump.
The flags will be lowered back to half-staff the following day to continue honoring President Jimmy Carter.”
Donald Trump of the Republican Party defeated Kamala Harris of the Democratic Party in the US Presidential Election 2024 to emerge the 47th President of the United States (US).
