Bundesliga 2024/25: Bayer Leverkusen 2-3 RB Leipzig – Visitors fight back, halt unbeaten streak for Alonso’s side

RB Leipzig came from the back to clinch a 3-2 triumph over Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga 2024/25 match at BayArena on Saturday 31 August, 2024.

All looked normal when Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen were two (2) goals ahead over their visitors, however, they were unaware their unbeaten run would soon end.

It was Bayer Leverkusen’s first defeat in 36 Bundesliga encounters as Leipzig came from 2 goals down away to shock their hosts on Saturday evening with a huge win.

Jeremie Frimpong and Alejandro Grimaldo netted for the Black and Reds in the 39th and 45th minutes respectively; and Kevin Kampl pulled one in the 7th minute of first half additional time.

Lois Openda netted a brace in the 57th and 80th minutes to help Marco Rose’s side clinch all away three points.
