The Super Eagles captain was born on 1 September, 1993 in Haarlem, Netherlands; fields for Saudi Pro League club, Al-Kholood as a centre-back.

Troost-Ekong won the Player Of The Tournament award at the AFCON 2023. Nigeria lost to hosts, Ivory Coast, in the final of the tournament 1-2 despite taking the lead.
