Luis Diaz opened scoring for the visitors in the 35th minute after Trent Alexander-Arnold’s goal in the 7th minute was cancelled by VAR; the Colombian winger went on to add his second three (3) minutes before the end of the first half.
Mohamed Salah, who created the two assists for Diaz, found the back of the net in the 56th minute to make it three for Arne Slot’s side.

In his post-victory comments to Sky Sports, Mohamed Salah said: “It’s a great result. Everybody knows a derby is very important for the city and for the fans, also the manager in his first game for him here.
“We’re so happy for the result and we need to just carry on.
“If you want to fight for the league, you have to win each game. And that’s a big game so I’m glad we managed to win it.”
