By Wednesday, some residents were forced to navigate their neighbourhoods by boat after flood water from the swollen Red River reached a metre high in parts of the Capital.
People in their thousands have evacuated from low-lying areas of the city and ten (10) of Hanoi’s administrative districts are on “flood alert”, as reported by State Media.
The government revealed, floods and landslides across Northern Vietnam have been the main causes of death from the Typhoon.
