Kilauea volcano, Hawaii, one of the most active in the world, is erupting again, causing a volcano watch alert in surrounding areas, officials say.

The eruption is happening within a remote area of Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, according to the U.S. Geological Survey’s (USGS) Hawaiian Volcano Observatory.
USGS Volcanoes said: “#Kilauea eruption continues in Nāpau Crater, a remote area of Hawai’i Volcanoes National Park. Geologists on the AM overflight report lava fountains ~10 m (yards) high generating lava flows on floor of Nāpau Crater. Lava confined to crater.”

About 17 earthquakes were detected beneath the Kilauea summit region between Monday and Tuesday. The earthquakes occurred at depths between .6 and 1.9 miles below the ground surface, the USGS said.
