Brazilian forward, Raphinha, scored thrice to help Barcelona maintain its 100% start to the new season with an easy 7-2 triumph over Racing Santander in the La Liga 2026/27 match on Wednesday 16 September, 2026 at Camp Nou.
The Brazil national team player has continued with this beautiful performance this season and has now netted eleven (11) goals in all competitions; nine (9) of these goals were scored by the forward in the top flight to help Hansi Flick’s Catalans start their title defence with six (6) wins out of six (6).
Since the commencement of their campaign, the Catalans have accumulated a whopping total of thirty-three (33) goals.
Early, in the 8th minute, Joao Cancelo opened the scoring for the home side with an assist from Lamine Yamal; and in the 25th minute, Raphinha made it two (2) from the penalty spot.
Maguette Gueye pulled one back for Racing Santander in the 30th minute, but, the Catalans restored their two-goal lead just six (6) minutes after when Asier Villalibre struck the back of his own net; Cancelo’s strike from long range deflected into the post off the Spanish striker.
Dani Olmo provided for Raphinha to make it four (4) for Barca in the 42nd minute with a low strike, and, in the 45th minute, Yamal, whose golden chance would have made it five (5) for the hosts, had his penalty saved by Julen Agirrezabala.
In the 65th minute, Yassir Zabiri scored the second for the visitors, however, two (2) minutes later, Barcelona were awarded a penalty, and this time, it was Raphinha who stepped forward to take the kick, which he perfectly converted to make it 5-2.
New signing, Gabriel Jesus, ensured to paste his name on the score sheet when he made it six (6) for Barca with Yamal’s assist; and, late in the 89th minute, Karim Adeyemi provided for Yamal, who sealed victory for Barcelona with the 7th.
The outcome leaves Barcelona at the top of the table with eighteen (18) points, closely trailed by Jose Mourinho’s Real Madrid with fifteen (15) points, while Racing Santander are 10th with seven (7) points.
Raphinha emerged Most Valuable Player (MVP) for the month of August. The feat is coming following his outstanding performance in the game against Racing at home.
