Bournemouth 1-1 Manchester City: The wait ends! Arsenal are Premier League 2025/26 Champions

The brave fight by Manchester City for the Premier League 2025/26 title ended after Pep Guardiola’s Cityzens were unable to emerge victorious over AFC Bournemouth in the Premier League match on Tuesday 19 May, 2026 at Vitality Stadium.

The visitors struggled to go home with one (1) point after levelling deep in stoppage time.

The result in Dorset means Arsenal have emerged the new Kings of England. Mikel Arteta’s Gunners are Premier League winners for the first time in a whopping twenty-two (22) years

Manchester City had taken the trip to the Vitality, fully aware that only victory can keep their title hopes breathing. In the contest, Guardiola’s side recorded more goal opportunities with Antoine Semenyo’s effort struck out for offside.

The hosts went in front in the 39th minute through teenager, Junior Kroupi, converting A. Truffert’s assist. In the 5th minute of additional time, striker Erling Haaland found the leveller for City to provid a glimmer of hope, but, the Cherries held on.

The one (1) point secured by AFC Bournemouth from the match has handed them a spot in Europe next season. It is the Club’s fist time qualifying for Europe in their 127 years of existence.

The result of the final game on Sunday will determine which particular European competition the Cherries will play in.

Celebrating the achievement on X, AFC Bournemouth wrote: “The next incredible chapter of this football club is written.

“We’ll be in Europe for the first time in our 127-year history next season.

“On to Sunday for one final push to find out which competition.”
