Manchester United V Nottingham Forest: Casemiro fit for final appearance for Reds

Michael Carrick has revealed Brazilian defensive midfielder, Casemiro, will be available for his last appearance for Manchester United on Sunday afternoon at Theatre of Dreams.

The Brazilian, who is parting ways with the Club, has been available for the Reds in all the Premier League games this season except for two (2) before missing the game against Sunderland last Saturday due to a minor issue. The clash between the Reds and the Black Cats ended without a goal.

Casemiro made his return to training at Carrington earlier this week and will be fit for the game against the Tricky Trees on home soil. It will be United’s last home game of the season.

Manchester United and Nottingham Forest will lock horns in the Premier League match on Sunday 17 May, 2026 at Old Trafford at 12:30 (WAT).

At the game against Nottingham Forest, Casemiro will bid a passionate goodbye to supporters after four (4) years at United.

When asked about Benjamin Sesko, who was also missing when Manchester United fielded against Sunderland, Carrick did not give a direct answer on the Slovenian striker’s availablity.

According to Manchester United official website, Carrick said:

On Casemiro’s last match for Manchester United and availability…

“Yeah, Case’s available. I can speak for since I’ve been here and met him and worked with him, he’s been fantastic for me, for us as a group, what he’s given us.

“He’s obviously had some ups and downs like we all have in football over the years, but to finish so strongly and to see that connection that he’s got with the supporters is really good to see.”

On Benjamin Sesko…

“Ben’s not as straightforward as Case. He’s still not 100 per cent with the [shin] problem that he had. Apart from that, we’re alright.”

Manchester United are currently third on the Premier League table with sixty-five (65) points, trailing neighbours, Manchester City, who have accumulated seventy-seven (77) points, while, Nottingham Forest are 16th with forty-three (43) points.
