Earlier on Thursday 7 May, 2026, Nentawe Yilwatda, National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), led the Party’s National Working Committee (NWC) to receive the Expression of Interest and Nomination Form of the Party’s leader, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu (GCFR).
The President’s form was received at a ceremony that was “well-attended” at the International Conference Centre in Abuja, Yilwatda revealed via X.
The ‘Broom’ Party had announced an extension of deadline of submission of forms to Thursday 7 May, 2026 (midnight).
The APC Chief listed Governors, National Assembly Leaders and members, Party elders, alongside other key stakeholders across Nigeria as those that witnessed the occasion.
The turnout described as “massive” and the display of solidarity reiterates the confidence that Party faithful and Nigerians have in the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
The ceremony, a “strong demonstration of unity” strengthens the “gains” already achieved under the Tinubu administration.
He said, the APC remains devoted to bolstering internal democracy that will continue to “reposition” Nigeria for “sustainable prosperity”.
Yilwatda said: “The massive turnout and overwhelming show of solidarity further reaffirm the confidence Nigerians and party faithful have in the Renewed Hope Agenda and the purposeful leadership of President Tinubu.
“It was not just a ceremonial event, but a strong demonstration of unity, continuity, and collective resolve to consolidate on the gains already being recorded under his administration.
“As a party, we remain committed to deepening internal democracy, strengthening national cohesion, and supporting policies and programmes that will continue to reposition our nation for sustainable growth and prosperity.”
