The relationship between Italian Serie A club, AS Roma, and Italian manager, Claudio Ranieri, has come to an end, the Club announced on Friday 24 April, 2026.
Ranieri joined AS Roma from Italian side, Cagliari, in 2024 and spent just one (1) season (2024/25) at Stadio Olimpico.
The club expressed gratitude to the Italian for guiding the Giallorossi “through a very challenging time”, however, said via a statement, the Club “will always come first”.
The Statement reads: “The Club would like to thank Claudio for his significant contributions to Roma. He lead the team through a very challenging time and we will always be grateful for his efforts.
“As we look to the future, our direction is clear. The Club is strong, with solid leadership and a defined vision. AS Roma will always come first.”
AS Roma also “confidently” said, former Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, will deliver results the club expects.
Until his sacking, Ranieri served at AS Roma as Senior Advisor.
“We have full confidence in the path ahead under Gian Piero Gasperini, with the shared objective of growing, improving, and delivering results worthy of our history”, the Club said.
