Rapper Offset shot outside Florida Casino

Kiari Kendrell Cephus, professionally known as, Offset, has been hospitalised after he was shot outside a Florida casino on Monday.

Offset, a former member of the Atlanta hip-hop trio, Migos, was shot in a valet area outside the Seminole Hard Rock hotel and casino, as disclosed to the media by the songwriter’s Spox.

The Spox said in a statement, the rapper is being medically attended to in a hospital and “being closely monitored”.

Offset was formerly married to female rapper Belcalis Marlenis Almánzar, popularly known as, Cardi B, with whom he had three (3) children.

Information of what led to the shooting remains unavailable.

The Seminole Police Department revealed, two (2) people were detained by police and officials are investigating the incident.

According to a Police Statement: “The site is secure and there is no threat to the public. Operations continue as normal.”

Takeoff, Migos fellow member of Offset, died in 2022 at the age of twenty-two (22) after he was shot outside a Houston bowling alley where he and his uncle, fellow Migos member Quavo, were playing dice.

After gaining fame through their signature rapid-fire triplet flow, Migos broke out with the 2013 hit Versace and later earned Grammy nominations for best rap album with 2017’s Culture and best rap performance.

Offset and Cardi were secretly wedded in September 2017 in the city of Atlanta. In 2024, the ‘I Like It’ singer made known, she has filed for divorce.
