Kwankwaso joins ADC

2023 Presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has joined the Coalition Party, African Democratic Congress (ADC).

Kwankwaso, former Governor of Kano State, was officially welcomed to the ADC by the Spokesperson of the Party, Bolaji Abdullahi.

The ADC Spox wrote on X: “The African Democratic Congress (ADC) warmly welcomes the former Governor of Kano State and Presidential Candidate of the NNPP in the 2023 General Election, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, to our party!”

The decision by Kwankwaso, who served as Minister of Defence under the administration of President Olusegun Obasanjo, aligns with what the people of Nigeria “already feels”.

His “strong grassroot connection” makes him a “valuable” constituent of the “collective” move to fix Nigeria.

Abdullahi said: “Senator Kwankwaso’s decision speaks to what many Nigerians already feel, that the country needs leadership that understands the challenges people face every day and is ready to take responsibility for fixing them.

“His experience in governance, his strong grassroots connection, and his ability to bring people together make him a valuable part of this collective effort to rebuild Nigeria.”

The ADC Spox said, Kwankwaso’s move to the ADC will inspire his Party members and supporters to join and strengthen the Coalition for the progress of the country.

Abdullahi said: “As part of this move, he has also encouraged members of his political movement and supporters across the country to join the ADC, adding strength to this growing coalition for change.”

Kwankwaso’s decision to join ADC is coming after his meeting with former member of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi, in Kano State.

In his reaction after joining ADC, Kwankwaso posted on X: “New Dawn. We are ADC.”
