Fubara visits President Tinubu, thanks him for lifting suspension

Siminalayi Fubara has visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and thanked him after the suspensions and State of emergency placed in Rivers State were lifted.

Fubara alongside members of the Rivers State House of Assembly had been placed under six-month suspension by the President Tinubu following “intense political crisis” in the South-South State.

Tinubu offered Fubara some advice as the Rivers Governor briefed the President on his resumption.

Fubara made known via X: “I visited Mr. President today to thank him on the lifting of the suspensions and state of emergency that had been imposed on the state.

“While I briefed him on my resumption, he offered some advice on charting the way forward.”

In his Statewide Broadcast on his resumption, Fubara said, he and Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), have agreed to “bury the hatchet and embrace peace and reconciliation in the best interest of Rivers State”.

Fubara also vowed his “utmost loyalty” to President Tinubu.
