Maresca said, at his press conference ahead of the clash at Old Trafford, “we are looking good”.
Interim manager, Ruud Van Nistelrooy’s Manchester United will play against Chelsea in the Premier League 2024/25 match at Old Trafford on Sunday 3 October, 2024 at 17:30 (WAT).
Sancho has been suffering with illness for the past few days.
According to chelseafc.com, at his press conference ahead of the match against Manchester United, Maresca said:
On Injury update…
“We are looking good. The players, they are all available. Except for Jadon, he has been ill in the last few days but he cannot play anyway [ineligible vs parent club].”
On the EFL Cup 2024/25 fourth round defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park…
“We prepared for the Newcastle game to win but unfortunately we lost. Every game, we prepare to try and win. The reason we make changes is because we are all one team and they all deserve to play.”
On Cole Palmer…
“With Cole, I hope so [he plays well]. He is going to play, I hope! Cole is doing very good and I said at the start of the season that if we expect 20 goals and 20 assists from him again, then that’s wrong. We shouldn’t put that pressure on him. He needs to enjoy his football and when he does that, you can see what he can do.
“Cole plays well even when he doesn’t score because he allows the rest [of the team] to play in the right way. He’s a very important player for us.”
