Governor Adeleke urge Osun indigenes and residents to partake in CVR exercise as State Guber election draws nigh

Executive Governor of Osun State, Ademola Adeleke, has urged indigenes and residents of the Southwestern State to participate “actively” in the continuous voters’ registration (CVR) exercise which kicked off on Monday 18 August, 2025 across the country.

The Governor tagged the CVR exercise “critical civic responsibility”, and said, the 2026 Osun State Governorship Election will be “pivotal to sustaining good governance in our dear state”.

Ademola Adeleke, under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), assumed office on 27 November 2022, taking over from Gboyega Oyetola of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Governor Adeleke took to X and wrote: “Dear people of Osun State,

“The nationwide continuous voters’ registration (CVR) exercise begins today, Monday 18th August 2025. I urge all indigenes and residents of Osun to participate actively. This is a critical civic responsibility.

“The 2026 governorship election will be pivotal to sustaining good governance in our dear state. Our voter’s card is our weapon to defend democracy and protect our choice.

“We must not only update our details but also ensure we come out to vote and protect our votes when the time comes. Electoral robbers must never be allowed to thwart the will of the people.

• If you just attained voting age, ensure you register.

• If you have misplaced your voter’s card, get a replacement.

• If you reside outside Osun, kindly transfer your voter’s card back home.

“I call on our leaders across all local governments to mobilise our people for this exercise. Together, we will retain a responsive, people-oriented leadership in Osun State!”
