Enugu Rangers defeated Ikorodu City 2-1 in the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) 2025/26 final game on Sunday 24 May, 2026 at Mobolaji Johnson Arena in Lagos State to emerge the new Kings of Nigeria.
Thanks to a brace from Chidiebere Nwobodo in both halfs of the showdown, the Flying Antelopes clinched their 9th NPFL title.
In the 30th minute, Enugu Rangers went in front through Nwobodo, and, in the 52nd minute, the visitors added the second to make it 2-0, again through the Captain.
The Oga Boys pulled one back in the 58th minute through A. Moses, but, the hosts were not able to get a comeback and Enugu Rangers gained maximum points to emerge NPFL 2025/26 Champions.
Finidi George’s Rivers United, who defeated Katsina United 3-0 in Port Harcourt, trailed Enugu Rangers by just one (1) point and would have won the League if the Flying Antelopes had drawn against Ikorodu City or finished as losers.
Remo Stars, who are defending champions, were unable to defeat Bendel Insurance in their game as the showdown finished 1-1.
The Sky Blue Stars placed 17th on the table with forty-six (46) points.
