Senator Shehu Sani has called for a stop to the comparison between what President Bola Ahmed Tinubu have the Super Falcons as reward and money that should be given to any other people or profession.
There has been mixed reactions after the President gave the Super Falcons a whopping $100,000 cash reward (naira equivalent), three bedroom flat each, as well as, conferred the girls and coaches with national honour; also, coaching crew received $50,000 cash reward (naira equivalent).
The Senator pleaded, “allow the Falcons to enjoy the fruit of their labour.”
In his reaction to the Super Falcons’ reward, 2023 Presidential candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC), Omoyele Sowore, said, “life is brutally unfair”.
Sowore said, the Super Falcons received $100,000 (₦150 million) just because they played football for 1 month, while the Police officers get $1,500 (₦2 million) after serving the country for 35 years.
Senator Shehu Sani said: “Please stop comparing what the FG gave to the Super Falcons with any other people or professions that need to be given more money.Whether it’s University lecturers,Soldiers,Policemen,Doctors or Judges….your problems are endless….allow the Falcons to enjoy the fruit of their labour.”
HC: Yes! No more comparison. The Super Falcons deserve every reward they got for bringing home the WAFCON trophy. They worked for it!!!
