The Super Falcons of Nigeria defeated the Bayana Bayana of South Africa 2-1 in the semi final of the Women’s Africa Cup Of Nations (WAFCON) on Tuesday 22 July, 2025.
Atletico Madrid forward, Rasheedat Ajibade, opened scoring for Nigeria from the penalty spot in the 44th minute.
The South Africans levelled from the penalty spot in the 59th minute through Linda Mothlalo.
Michelle Alozie sealed victory for the Super Falcons in the 4th minute of additional time to hand Nigeria a spot in the final of the tournament in Morocco.
The Super Falcons will slug it out with either Morocco or Ghana in the final, with those two sides playing in Tuesday’s second last-four tie.
Morocco and Ghana will kick off their showdown at 20:00 (WAT).
