Circa 10,000 Lazio fans staged a protest in Rome today against President Claudio Lotito’s running of the club and the struggling stadium project.
An appeal went out among the fan clubs in the Eternal City and they flocked to largo Corrado Ricci, marching all the way up to the Fori Imperiali.
According to reports, there were circa 10,000 supporters who turned out to protest President Lotito.
He has been at the helm since 2004, having effectively saved the Biancocelesti from bankruptcy under previous owner Sergio Cragnotti, but his tenure has also seen controversy.
None more so than this summer, because Lazio failed three different financial stress tests and have therefore been placed under a transfer embargo.
They are not even able to sign free agents until January 2026, unless Lotito pumps fresh funds into their coffers, something that he insists is unnecessary.
The protest also continued with a group representing the ultras who met with political figures to discuss the status of the stadium project. | Football Italia
