FIFA Club World Cup 2025: ‘We’re here to win games and progress’ – Bayern Chief, Max Eberl

Bayern Munich Board Member for Sport, Max Eberl, said, the Bavarians are “trying to prepare as best we can” for the FIFA Club World Cup 2025.

The FIFA Club World Cup 2025 is scheduled to hold in the United States (US). It is planned to be the first under an expanded format with 32 teams, including the winners of the four previous continental championships.

Eberl said, at his interview, Bayern Munich who arrived the United States (US) and camped in Orlando City are “obviously” in the comeptition “to win the games and progress as far as we can”.

For Vincent Kompany’s Bayern Munich, the tournament will commence on Sunday 15 June, 2025, when the German side lock horns with Auckland City at 17:00 (WAT).

According to the Club’s official website, at his interview, Max Eberl said: “I think the trip has been superbly organised. The hotel is perfect, the pitches are good and we haven’t had any injuries in the first 48 hours, which is always the most important thing. Accordingly, everything feels good so far and it all starts on Sunday.”

On progressing in the tournament, Eberl said: it’s also “a bit of a journey into the unknown. We don’t really know what to expect yet. Other teams are more familiar with the conditions here. We’re trying to prepare as best we can and are obviously here to win the games and progress as far as we can.”

On the other players who recently represented their countries during the international break and couldn’t make it to the team’s camp in Orlando until Thursday evening and Friday, Eberl said: “All the internationals will certainly not start against Auckland. The other lads have already acclimatised a bit. We’ll definitely put out a strong team.”

On Bayern Munich’s opponents, Eberl said: “With Benfica and Boca, you have two teams who have achieved great things. We know Benfica, we last played them in the Champions League and that wasn’t an easy game.”

Bayern Munich are the current Kings of Germany after emerging Bundesliga 2024/25 Champions; reclaiming the crown from Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen.

Alonso, who has parted ways with the Black and Reds, will guide Spanish La Liga side, Real Madrid, at the FIFA Club World Cup, in his first task as manager of the Los Blancos.
