Eno Dumps PDP Joins APC: Akpabio welcomes Akwa Ibom Governor to the ‘Broom’ fold

President of the Nigerian Senate, Godswill Akpabio, has sent his welcome message to the Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Umo Eno, following his defection from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the governing All Progressives Congress (APC).

Akpabio wrote: “welcome to the fold my Governor.”

Governor Eno dumped the ‘Umbrella’ Party alongside his Deputy, Akon Eyakenyi, for the ‘Broom’ Party.

Eno and Eyakenyi were both received “with utmost joy” by Akpabio and the All Progressives Congress (APC) Governors at the residence of the Senate President in Uyo.

In his welcome message, Senate President Akpabio wrote: “Welcome to the fold my Governor

“It is with utmost joy that I received our governor, Pastor Umo Eno PhD, his deputy, Akon Eyakenyi, All Progressives Congress Governors led by the chairman of the Forum, Hope Uzodimma and other stakeholders of our party, at my residence in Uyo.

“Akwa Ibom State, after the historic defection of my brother, Governor Eno, members of the State Executive Council, Federal and State lawmakers, as well as council chairmen into the Progressives’ family.

“Thank you Mr Governor for having the interest of our people at heart.”

Umo Eno is another Governor under the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to dump the ‘Umbrella’ Part and join the APC after Sheriff Oborevwori, Governor of Delta State.

Oborevwori; his Deputy; immediate former Governor of Delta State, Ifeanyi Okowa; alongside all PDP members of the South-South State defected to the APC.

The Delta State Governor said, his move to the ruling Party is for the benefit of the people of the State.
