Executive Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made known, the State has taken delivery of three brand-new train sets of twelve (12) coaches in total for the Lagos Blue Line Rail.
The Governor told Lagosians, “this means shorter wait times and more comfortable trips for everyone using the Blue Line.”
Adding, it is a “step forward” in his administration’s efforts “to make daily commute in Lagos less stressful and more reliable.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu said: “I’m happy to share that we have taken delivery of three brand-new train sets of 12 coaches in total for the Lagos Blue Line Rail.
“This means shorter wait times and more comfortable trips for everyone using the Blue Line. It’s a step forward in our efforts to make daily commute in Lagos less stressful and more reliable.”
Sanwo-Olu said, despite the level of progress made, “we’re not stopping here.”
He disclosed, work to extend the Blue Line all the way to Okokomaiko is in progress, saying, he is targeting the completion of the project by 2026.
Sanwo-Olu is of the belief that, what his government is building “will change how we move around this city for the better.”
Governor Sanwo-Olu said: “We’re not stopping here. Work is ongoing to extend the Blue Line all the way to Okokomaiko, and we’re aiming to finish that by 2026. I know it’s been a long time coming, but I truly believe we’re building something that will change how we move around this city for the better.”
He expressed gratitude to Lagosians for their patience and hopefulness, assuring, “we’re getting there together.”
Sanwo-olu concluded: “Thank you for being patient and hopeful. We’re getting there, together.”
