International Workers’ Day 2025: Governor Idris reaffirms ‘administration’s commitment to protecting rights and privileges’ of Kebbi State workers

Governor Nasir Idris has reaffirmed his “administration’s commitment to protecting rights and privileges” of Kebbi State workers.

Idris made the statement on International Workers’ Day 2025, today, Thursday 1 May, 2025 as he sent them his “warmest congratulations”.

He said, “your dedication, hard work, and perseverance are the backbone of our economy, and I’m proud to be part of a team that values your efforts.”

International Workers’ Day also known as Labour Day and May Day is a celebration of labourers and the working classes that is promoted by the international labour movement and occurs every year on 1 May or the first Monday in May.

Governor Idris said: “Warmest congratulations to the hardworking men and women of Kebbi State on this Workers’ Day celebration! I’m honored to have joined you today at the Haliru Abdu Stadium, Birnin Kebbi, to commemorate your invaluable contributions to our state’s progress.

“As a fellow worker and unionist, I understand the challenges you face and reaffirm my administration’s commitment to protecting your rights and privileges. Your dedication, hard work, and perseverance are the backbone of our economy, and I’m proud to be part of a team that values your efforts. Let’s continue to work together to build a brighter future for Kebbi State. Thank you to the Nigeria Labour Congress and Trade Union Congress for your unwavering advocacy for workers’ welfare. Here’s to many more years of growth, development, and prosperity!”
