Governor of Abia State, Alex Otti, announced, the State government alongside strategic partners and the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, launched three (3) groundbreaking healthcare initiatives.
They are: “Formal Sector Health Insurance Scheme, Free Hearing Aid Distribution Project and Free Medical Outreach.”
According to Governor Otti: “Yesterday, the Abia State Government, in collaboration with strategic partners and the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation, launched THREE groundbreaking healthcare initiatives:
“• Formal Sector Health Insurance Scheme: Providing affordable and comprehensive healthcare access for tens of thousands of civil servants and their families.
• Free Hearing Aid Distribution Project: Empowering 1,000 individuals with hearing aids through the Sound Intervention Mission sponsored by the Olusegun Obasanjo Foundation.
• Free Medical Outreach: Bring consultations, treatments, and minor surgeries to the doorsteps of our people in Umuahia and Aba at no cost.
“During the launch, I emphasized that no one in the New Abia should ever be denied healthcare for financial reasons. Our vision is clear—to build a dynamic, inclusive, and responsive healthcare system for all.
“On behalf of the government and people of Abia State, I extend heartfelt gratitude to Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR, for his unwavering love for our people and his participation in launching these transformative healthcare initiatives. His enduring patriotism and commitment to public service, even at an advanced age, inspire us all to remain optimistic about Nigeria’s great potential despite challenges.
