Uefa Champions League 2024/25: Atletico Madrid 1(2)-(4)0 Real Madrid – Los Blancos through to quarter final

Real Madrid have secured their spot in the Uefa Champions League quarter-finals.

It was a tough battle from the get-go, after Conor Gallagher found the net in the first minute of the match, however, Carlo Ancelotti’s side held their nerve from the spot once again to make it through to the next round.

The tie was level after Gallagher’s goal with just 30 seconds on the clock. From that moment on, Real Madrid took complete charge of the ball, and with 20 minutes gone they appealed for a penalty as Vini Jr.’s cross hit Giuliano’s hand.

The Los Blancos were in control, but could not break down Atlético’s well-drilled, solid defence.

Real Madrid booked their place in the quarter final of the UCL after a 4-2 win on penalties; the Spanish Kings will face Arsenal in the next round of the competition.
