It is ‘very treatable’: Hollywood actress Jane Fonda having chemotherapy for cancer

Hollywood star Jane Fonda has disclosed she has been diagnosed with cancer and undergoing chemotherapy.

84-year old Fonda said in a post to her 1.9 million followers on Instagram that she has non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma.

The 7-time Golden Globe Award winner described the ailment as “a very treatable cancer… so I feel very lucky”.

Fonda used her post to flash some light on the current state of healthcare in the US, saying that “too many don’t have access to quality health care”.

The Hollywood icon, who has clinched two British Academy Film Awards, wrote: “lucky because I have health insurance and access to the best doctors and treatments.


“I realize, and it’s painful, that I am privileged in this.


“Almost every family in America has had to deal with cancer at one time or another and far too many don’t have access to the quality health care I am receiving and this is not right.”

She further wrote: “I’m doing chemo for 6 month. Cancer is a teacher and I’m paying attention to the lessons it holds for me.”
