A building has collapsed in the Dutse Local Government Area of Jigawa State causing the death of three children.

DSP Lawan Shiisu, the Public Relations Officer of the Police Command in the State, said, the collapse was as a result of heavy rainfall in the area, alongside confirmed the three deaths.
Shiisu disclosed that the unfortunate occurrence happened on Wednesday morning in the Yakasai area of Jigawa Tsada village.
He said: “Three children namely; one Farida Idi, 6, Mariya Idi, 3, and Bilkisu Yahya, one and a half, all of Yakasai in Jigawa died on the spot before they could be rescued.”
The Police PRO butressed that after receiving information about the building collapse, moved his team to the site, evacuated the victims and rushed them to General Hospital in Dutse, however, the medical doctor on duty pronounced them dead.
Shiisu said the bodies of the victims have been released to their families for burial.
