The alleged killing of one Miss Ummukulthum Sani of Janbulo quarters in Kano State by a Chinese national named Gheng Chu based in the state has been confirmed by the Kano State Police Command on Friday evening.

SP Abdullahi Haruna, the Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the sad incident at a press conference on Saturday, saying, the Command received a distress call around 10 pm on Friday, and that the Police Commissioner sent a team to the scene.
“The 47- year-old Chinese visited the residence of his girl friend, Miss Ummukulthum Sani, 22 and they engaged in an argument before he allegedly stabbed her many times with a knife,” he said.
The PPRO revealed, when the Police arrived at the scene of the murder, they rushed the victim to the Murtala Mohammed Specialist Hospital where she was pronounced dead.
Haruna further revealed, the Chinese national has been nabbed, also on the orders of the Commissioner of Police of the State, investigations into the case has commenced.
Telling the story to reporters on Saturday, the victim’s mother disclosed, her daughter was in a relationship with the suspect before she got married about three years ago.
She narrated: “the marriage failed after three months which made the Chinese to stalk their house although her daughter never paid attention to him.
“But on that fateful Friday evening, the sound of his knock on the gate was too disturbing and I decided to open it and he pushed me and gained entrance to her room.
“He stabbed her multiple times with a knife in spite my struggle to rescue her and my cries for help were also not noticeable due to heavy rain.”
The mother of the deceased said, a passer-by gained entrance into the room via the window after he overheard loud screams, and grabbed Chu.
As gathered by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), before her death, late Miss Ummukulthum Sani was a Youth Corper serving in Sokoto State.
