Uefa Champions League 2022/23: Ajax 0-3 Liverpool – Salah, Nunez, Elliott score as Reds reach knockouts

English side Liverpool have qualified for the Round of 16 of the Uefa Champions League 2022/23 after comfortably beating Dutch Eredivisie Champions, Ajax, 3-0 at the Johan Cruyff Arena, Amsterdam, Netherlands on Wednesday 26 October.

Jurgen Klopp’s side came into the encounter with the knowledge that they needed just one point to scale through to the knockout stages, while Ajax knew they needed to clinch victory to maintain their thin chance of coming out of the group.

Egyptian forward, Mohamed Salah, put Liverpool ahead just three minutes to the end of the first 45 minutes.

In the 49th minute, Darwin Nunez made it two for the Reds with a header from Andrew Robertson’s corner from the left hand side.

Harvey Elliott sealed the win for Liverpool with the third goal in the 52nd minute.
