MTV EMAS 2022: Burna Boy beat Ayra Starr, Black Sheriff to win ‘Best African Act’

Damini Ebunoluwa Ogulu, Nigerian record producer, professionally known as Burna Boy, cruised past his fellow nominees; Ayra Starr (Nigeria), Black Sheriff (Ghana), Musa Keys (South Africa) and Zuchu (Tanzania), to win the ‘Best African Act’ prize at the MTV EMAS 2022.

Full List of Winners 👇 The MTV EMAS 2022 was hosted at the PSD Bank Dome in Düsseldorf, Germany.

American songwriter, Taylor Swift, carted away four awards at the MTV EMAS 2022, making her the highest winner at the event.

Swift emerged winner in these four categories: “Best Artist”, “Best Video”, “Best Pop” and “Best Longform Video” for the song “All Too Well (10 minutes version) (Taylor’s Version)”.

Onika Tanya Maraj-Petty, professionally called Nicki Minaj, won the “Best Song” award for “Super Freaky Girl” as well as “Best Hip Hop”.

The global music awards event was hosted by British singer Rita Ora and New Zealand filmmaker, Taika Waititi, which also featured beautiful performances from top-level artists.

David Guetta and Bebe Rexha won the “Best Collaboration” award for “I’m Good (Blue)”.

During the MTV EMA Red Carpet Show, the recipients were honoured. The show was broadcast live on MTV worldwide and streamed on mtvema.com
