‘We believe in you’ – President Tinubu says as he declares National Youth Confab open

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has declared the National Youth Confab 2026 open with a message to ‘young’ Nigerians that, the country “believes in you”.

The President declared the Confab open on Friday 2 October, 2026. In a statement directed to the Nigerian youth, he said, Nigeria “believes in what you can do for its future”.

Via the Statement signed by himself, the President announced: “Today, we open the National Youth Confab 2026 @Youthconfab2026. The message to every young Nigerian is this: Our dear country believes in you and in what you can do for its future.”

Tinubu said, he made the proposal for the Confab because he “wanted young Nigerians to have more than a seat in the room”, adding, they possess the “experience and ambition” they require to “shape” the choices that affect them daily.

He urged the youth to “say what you think”, as he assured his government’s readiness to “listen” and take the right “action”.

President Tinubu said: “When I proposed this Confab, I wanted young Nigerians to have more than a seat in the room. Your experience and ambition should help shape the decisions that affect your lives.

“Say what you think. Where you disagree with us, say so, and bring the alternative with you. Our job as a government is to listen and act on what deserves action.”

The National Youth Confab 2026 will run for the “next two weeks” and young Nigerians whether home or abroad are free to participate.

The President made known his willingness to welcome “recommendations”, saying, they will receive “serious considerations”.

President Tinubu said: “The virtual consultations run for the next two weeks and are open to you wherever you are, at home or in the diaspora.

“I look forward to receiving your recommendations and giving them the serious consideration they deserve.

“God bless every Nigerian Youth
