Henry Seriake Dickson, National Leader and Founder of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), has expressed congratulations to the entire NDC Leadership, as well as, Nigerians, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) uploads the Party’s “preferred and approved” logo.
The upload of NDC Party logo is in compliance with the High Court order.
Taking to X, Dickson, former Governor of Bayelsa State, thanked the Nigerian Judiciary and Professor Joash Amupitan, INEC Chairman, alongside all members of the INEC team “for complying with the court judgment”.
Dickson announced: “Congratulations to the entire leadership of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) and to all Nigerians, as the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has uploaded our preferred and approved party logo, in compliance with the order of the High Court, as provided for in our Constitution and ratified by the National Executive Committee (NEC).”
And for their “hard work”, the Senator expressed gratitude to Senator Moses Cleopas, National Chairman of the Party and members of the Party’s National Executive Committee (NEC). He also hailed the “understanding” of all candidates and members of the Party.
Candidates of the Party can no go ahead and print campaign materials, and, move on with campaigns “with certainty”.
Dickson described the NDC as “fighters”, and assured Nigerians, the Party will fight “to the end”.
The Senator said: “Our approved logo has now been uploaded, and candidates can print campaign materials and continue their consultations and campaigns with certainty.
“We assure all Nigerians and our candidates that we are committed to seeing this through to the end. We are fighters, and we will fight until the end. We have resisted those who sought to use the judiciary against the party, and they have failed.”
He encouraged candidates to go ahead with their campaigns and spread their message “freely” to all parts of Nigeria “without intimidation”; he called on candidates to “avoid self-sabotage”.
Let us work together and fight against “propaganda and misinformation” from those who pursue to “undermine the party”, he urged.
Dickson said: “We must now join hands and ensure that all candidates campaign and take their message freely to every part of Nigeria without intimidation. I call on all candidates to work with the party at all levels in the composition of their campaign teams as they are not independent candidates and AVOID SELF-SABOTAGE
“We must together join hands to fight against propaganda and misinformation from people who seek to undermine the party and our candidates and create division with childish rumours.”
He described NDC as a “product of vision, selfless dedication, and commitment to democratic ideals”, and assured, the Party is fully ready “to fight to uphold the democratic rights of Nigerians and to ensure that multi-party democracy thrives”.
