French forward, Kylian Mbappe, scored three (3) times to help Real Madrid cruise through Real Sociedad in the La Liga 2026/27 match on Wednesday 26 August, 2026 at Santiago Bernabeu, Madrid City.
It was a brilliant hat-trick from the France international in Portuguese Manager, Jose Mourinho’s first home game since his return to the Los Blancos as head coach.
The victory on Wednesday night means Mourinho has maintained his 100% start to the new season, winning two (2) out of two (2) after defeating Espanyol 2-1 on Saturday at the RCDE Stadium.
Brazilian winger, Vinicius Junior, was also on the score sheet, while, England midfielder, Jude Bellingham, recorded two (2) assists.
It was the same selection on Wednesday that handed Mourinho his first three (3) points as returnee coach on Saturday that featured against the The White and Blues.
Mbappe opened the scoring for the hosts in the 40th minute after Federico Valverde had provided; the Frenchman executed a smart touch to scale through his marker and placed the ball in the top corner.
But, four (4) minutes later, the visitors, who won the Copa Del Rey last season, levelled through Luka Sucic; Job Ochieng’s shot was blocked but dropped beautifully in front of the Croatian midfielder whose effort found the back of the net after it deflected off Alvaro Carreras.
In the 60th minute, Real Madrid restored their lead through Mbappe, converting Bellingham’s assist; and the England star turned provider once again, this time for Vinicius, who made it three (3) for the hosts in the 68th minute.
And, in the 80th minute, Mbappe, top scorer in La Liga in each of the last two seasons, was located by Vinicius’ assist to complete his hat-trick and make it four (4) for the home side.
The Brazil international was replaced by record Madrid signing Yan Diomande with just seven (7) minutes to the end of the contest.

Real Madrid will play against Malaga in the La Liga match at Santiago Bernabeu on Sunday 30 August, 2026 at 16:00, while, Real Sociedad face Espanyol on Saturday 29August, 2026 in the La Liga match at Reale Arena at 18:00 (WAT).
Kings of Spain, Barcelona, will face Athletic Bilbao in the La Liga match on Thursday 27 August, 2026 at Camp Nou, Barcelona at 20:00 (WAT).
New signing, Rodri, is expected to make his debut for Hansi Flick’s Catalans on Thursday night.
